The E-learning Unit of the University of the Visayas (UV) conducted an E-learning Session for Faculty on Effective Presentation using the Microsoft PowerPoint earlier today via MS Teams.
“We are getting ready to move from a predominantly print-based classroom to a digital learning environment. However, the technology will never replace good teachers,” assured UV Chief Executive Officer Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo, Jr. to the participants during his opening remarks.
Dr. Iñigo mentioned how COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the use of technology in all schools around the world where in the context of the new normal, technology is already considered as an essential tool.
Dr. Iñigo added that the best combination is quality teachers working with technology to personalize the learning experience and engage students in the pursuit of the learning they need.
Resource speaker Dr. Edgardo M. Cortes, a Microsoft Certified Trainer, imparted his knowledge and expertise in MS PowerPoint in order for the faculty and teaching staff of the university to produce efficient and good quality of education. He demonstrated the use of different features available in MS PowerPoint.
In her closing remarks, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas highlighted that change will require long-term commitment and effort and that the inputs given to them will help them to motivate the students to love learning.
A certificate of appreciation was presented by the Chief Financial and Administration Officer Dr. Rosemarie C. Español to Dr. Cortes.
UV administrators, deans, program coordinators, faculty and staff were the participants of the webinar.
